Download Hindi Movie The Tuxedo > DOWNLOAD (Mirror #1)

Show Spoiler

A hapless chauffeur must take a comatose secret agent's place using his special gadget-laden tuxedo.
Jimmy Tong is just a lowly chauffeur for millionaire Clark Devlin, until Devlin has an accident that puts him in the hospital. Tong is sent back to fetch some things for Devlin and unknowingly tries on Devlin's tuxedo and finds that it gives extraordinary powers to anyone that dons the suit. This discovery thrusts Tong into world of international intrigue and espionage and pairs him with an inexperienced partner.
I felt an obligation to see this movie. After all, it stars Jackie Chan, who I love, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who is my girlfriend. I would be remiss if I didn't see it. Going into it, I didn't expect too much, just a few good laughs and Jackie Chan kicking the crap out of a few bad guys with bad timing.

I'm not exactly sure what I got. THE TUXEDO provides both the laughs and the action, but at the same time, it is guilty of blurring the line too much. Part of the fun of a Jackie Chan movie is the "wow" factor, that is, the part of us that thinks in amazement, "Wow, he's actually doing that!" With THE TUXEDO, that exclamation is always followed by a cautious "or is he?"

See, Chan's character in THE TUXEDO, Jimmy Tong, has no grip on martial arts. He only gains his skills after putting on a high-tech suit that allows him to perform any stunt within the realm of human potential. So, obviously, when Tong walks vertically up a wall and onto the ceiling, we know it's not actually Chan doing the stunt. Ditto when he flies across a room CROUCHING TIGER style. So, when Chan starts up his familiar ass-kicking routine, we no longer trust our eyes.

Luckily, the aforementioned abilities are exactly what this movie needs to pull itself up. As in all of his other films, Chan is at his best when simply left to his own devices. The fight scenes are typical of the infectious excitement Chan brings to all his movies. Particularly memorable is one scene, in which Chan fights a series of intruders with his pants half off, that is the funniest in the movie. (Trust me on this one.) And, Chan's effortless sense of comedic timing always lightens up the screen. He truly is, as many critics have called him, the Charlie Chaplin of his time.

Unfortunately, a flawed script keeps this from being his GOLD RUSH. The spirit of fun is contagious, but when a man does a backflip of a 150 foot watertower (Chan actually did this) and we're left thinking it's a special effect, you know there's a slight problem in your script.

(**1/2/****)
this movie, like a slap in the face, is unexpected, unwarranted, and somewhat painful. but after the initial shock and pain wears off and the swelling goes down, there's something almost refreshing about it. in the case of The Tuxedo, this comes no doubt from Jennifer Love Hewitt's character, Del Blaine. while i'm not a fan of J. Love by any means, i found myself loving her in this film. her character is a wise-cracking agent just trying not to screw up her first assignment. and while she sometimes comes off as bitchy and mean, the kind of girl that would be more than happy to offer up that slap in the face i was referring to earlier, you can't help but fall for her. deep down, you gotta love that little girl inside trying to make good in the face of her seemingly insane partner, played by Jackie Chan. Jackie's not half bad as Jimmy Tong, a guy without the kick-ass skills Chan is known for possessing. it's a nice change for him, and his chemistry with Jennifer Love Hewitt is just the kind of friendly banter that the film calls for. but the acting can't save the story from falling on it's face as hard and often as Chan's character is forced to. the tiresome water plot nearly dehydrates the rest of the film and leaves one looking to Chan and Love Hewitt's banter for a little refreshment.
In The Tuxedo, ridiculously, Chan's just a suit. A suit walking Jennifer Love Hewitt's breasts around. Chan deserves better.
